CollectPay is a credit and debit tracking application developed and operated by Emerging Apps Private Limited, a company registered in Tamil Nadu, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
By using CollectPay, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Phone number — used for account registration and OTP verification
- Name — your display name within the app
- Transaction data — credit and debit entries, including amounts, dates, descriptions, interest rates, and EMI schedules, stored locally on your device and in the cloud
2.2 Information Collected with Permission
- Contacts list — accessed only with your explicit permission to help you add customers quickly. We do not upload your full contact list to our servers.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Device information — device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
- Usage data — app features used, session duration, crash reports, and performance data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the CollectPay service
- To manage your account and verify your identity
- To enable you to send SMS and WhatsApp payment reminders to your customers
- To analyse usage patterns and improve our app
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests
- To send you important updates about the service
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information with the following service providers who assist us in operating the app:
- Firebase (Google) — for authentication, cloud storage, analytics, and crash reporting
- MSG91 — for sending OTP and SMS notifications
- AiSensy — for sending WhatsApp Business API messages on your behalf
These service providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are only permitted to use your data as necessary to provide services to us.
5. Data Storage
Your data is stored in two locations:
- Local device storage — using Room Database on your Android device for offline access
- Cloud storage — using Firebase Firestore for backup and sync across devices
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption.
6. SMS and WhatsApp Reminders
CollectPay allows you to send payment reminders to your customers through two channels:
- SMS — reminders are sent from your own phone number using your device's native SMS functionality. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.
- WhatsApp — reminders are sent via the WhatsApp Business API through our partner AiSensy. These messages are sent on your behalf.
You have full control over when and to whom reminders are sent. CollectPay does not send any messages without your explicit action.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide you with our services. If you wish to have your data deleted, you may request account deletion by contacting us at support@collectpay.app. Upon receiving your request, we will delete your data within 15 business days, except for records we are required to retain by law.
8. Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
CollectPay is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
